Validation of the Botanal method in a Phalaris aquatica and Trifolium subterraneum pasture. III. Estimation and validation of multipliers

Alberto Mansilla M.1, Mario Silva G.1, Fernando Squella N.2 y Carolina Márquez G.3

Tha multipliers used in the dry weight rank method for botanical composition estimations, were calculated and evaluated for a Phalaris aquatica (hardinggrass) and Trifolium subterraneum (subclover) pasture, in the subhumid Mediterranean dryland of Chile. The multipliers calculated defer in 6.7 points for rank 1, 7.8 points far rank 2 and 1.1 points far rank 3. The discrepancies between rank groups did not produce important changes in botanical composition, verifying that the bibliographical multipliers produce a subestimation of 6.0% for Trifolium subterraneum and an overestimation of 3.0% for Phalaris aquatica.
