The regional wheat trials of the 1963-64 and 1964-65 seasons pointed out the outstanding behavior of the new varieties Centrifén, Collafén and Yafén, which yielded in 1964-65, average of six locations under irrigation, 6.683, 6.348, and 5.959 Kg/ha, respectively. The average yield of the check varieties in that season was 5.651 Kg/ha. The new durum variety Alifén yielded in both seasons more than the average of the commercial durums Candealfén 4 and Capelli. Centrifén, Yafén, (Cl 7805-lh X Cp), Platifén, Rulofén and Alifén, were resistant in both seasons to the prevalent physiologic races of Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici Eriks. & Henn., Puccinia recondita f. sp. tritici Rob. ex Desm., and Puccinia striitormis West., in all locations. |
