During 1986, Phomopsis vaccinii was determined in many highbush blueberry cultivars recently introduced to Chile from the U.S.A. (some of them under quarantine) and located in different places of the IX and the X Region of Chile. Diaporthe vaccinii (perfect form of P. vaccinii) was also found, but not very often. The affected plants showed twig blight and dieback as prevaling symptoms. Ocassionally, fruit rot at harvest also was detected. |
