A method to estimate the mean annual and monthly rainfall and standard deviation, based on geographical indexes, was developed for localities without or with incomplete weather information. area of this study is located in Central Chile, between 35º40’ and 38º00’ latitude south. Forty weather stations were selected; thirty were used for the development of the model, and the remainder ten were used to evaluate the model.
