The effect of different NP fertilization rates (nitrogen: 0, 100, 200, 300 kg/ha; phosphorus: 0, 44, 87,131, 175 kg/ha) on nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium absorption of cv. Mercado de Copenhaguecabbage (Brassica oleraceae L. var. Capitata) plants transplanted on a Vilcún soil was investigated. Inaddition, at different NP levels the soil nitrogen content was determined. Materials and methods usedwere described on Part 1 of this study. Leaves and stem lengthening phosphorus percentage increased as phosphorus fertilization increased. The same trend was observad in total absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium by the wholeplant. The high leaves nitrogen content of cabbage and no response to nitrogen fertilization suggestedan adequate N plants supply probably from mineralization of soil active organic fraction. Also, theinorganic nitrogen content of Vilcún soil profile was increased as the nitrogen rate increased and it wasdecreased in depth through the growth cycle. At different nitrogen levels the phosphorus recoveryefficiency was decreased as phosphorus fertilization increased. |
