Metrenco-INIA, alternative bread wheat for the south of Chile

Metrenco-INIA is an alternative bread wheat variety, released from a cross made at Carillanca Exp. Sta. in 1993. It is moderately resistant to stripe rust and moderately susceptible to leaf rusto It is a high yielding variety appropiated for direct bread making. Winter and spring sowing dates are recommended for the south of Chile.
