Results of adaptability studies on Cruciferae oil erops carried out at the coastal dryland of Santiago and ValparaÃso provinces are presented. Nursery three-row plots for observations ancl preliminary evaluations were grown at 7 locations in 1963. A fom-replication trial with 7 entries was conducted at 4 locations in 1964. The early maturity varieties Pekinensis, Ravizzone, Arlo. and Svalöf 0308 exhibited superior seed yields at most locations where they were tested. Pekinensis variety has advantage from the weed control standpoint since it cloes nat resemble B. campestrÃs weed which is very common in the coastal dryland. On the basis of two yeal studies the prospects for Crucierae oil crops to fit in the rotation of the coastal dryland of Santiago and ValparaÃso are very promising. |
