ABSTRACT

PATRICIO AZOCAR C.1

The results of three trials of row spacing and seeding rates of sorghum at the Central Experiment Station of the Ministry of Agriculture, Santiago, are presented. The best distance between rows for the sorghum for silage was 0.20 m., followed by 0.40 m. and 0.60 m. which did not show a significant difference between them. However, distances of 0,40 m. x 0,60 m. between rows would appear more recommendable, as they facilite cultural practices, which are of great importance during the first stage of development of the sorghum, which is slower than that of maize.
