The averages for yield, hectoliter weight, percentage of infection with Puccinia striiformis, P. recondita and P. graminis, and notes for BYDV and aphids in al1 the wheat yield experiments conducted at La Platina (INIA, Santiago), the years 1987 and 1988, are reported. The average sowing date was the 23 of June, for both years. With 792 mm, 1987 was a very rainy year, with more than the double rainfall of an average year; 1988 was a dry year, with only 164 mm. In 1987, there was a generalized yellowness in the wheats and an average attack of Erysiphe graminis of 12%. The yield of bread wheats was of 67.4 quintals/hectare in 1987, and 17.9 in 1988. In the durum wheats, it was of 69.7 in 1987 and 76.9 in 1988. It should be noticed the loss of more than 10 quintals in the average yield in the 1987 trials, as compared to the yields in 1985, 1986, and 1988. The hectoliter weight was excellent in both years: with 84.3 kg/hl in 1987 and 83.4 in 1988, in bread wheats; and 83.4 kg/hl and 83.5 in 1987 and 1988, in the durum.
