Small white powdery lesions were observed in artichoke leaves on crops at La Platina Experimental Station (INlA, Santiago) and Quillota V Region. These lesions became brown and covered almost all of the leaf blade. Cleistothecia were found on the lesions. Levaillula taurica was determinad based on measurements of the cleistothecia, asci, ascospores and conidia; the shape and type of fulcra of the cleistothecia, and pathogenecity test.
