In the wheat breeding program of the Quilamapu Research Station (INIA), a study of spring wheat genotypes was carried out. The main objective was to determine some correlations between grain yield and quality characteristics. The results allowed to stablish:
1. Grain yield was positively correlated with hectol iter weight.
2. Grain yield and hectoliter weight were not correlated with grain protein percentages.
3. Grairí protein percentages and sedimentation values were positively correlated, and both with bread volume.
4. Some winter wheats like Kavkaz, Aurora and Bezostaia, and the spring wheats Penjamo-Gabo 55, arid Ciano-Sonora x Klein Rendidor/Kaliansona, have been important contributors to the release of high yielding and good quality cultivars.
