Two species of tephritid flies, Protensina hyalipennis Hennig and Dioxyna chilensis (Macquart), were identified damaging the weeds Sonchus oleraceus L. and S. asper (L.) and Bidens pilosa L., respectiveIy. The degree of damage reaches up to 96% of the flowers, by the first species, and between 2 to 4% of the seeds, by D. chilensis. |
