Using material of regional wheat variety trials, in the south-central part of Chile, an assessment of the incidence of the black point disease in different cultivars and localities was carried out. Several of the fungi associated to this disease were isolated. Differences between genotypes were observed, suggesting that resistance to this disease may be found through a plant breeding programo Alternaría was the most frequent genus isolated.
