Lucy Ascui M.1 y Mario Alvarez A.2

The double antibody Enzyme-Linked lmmunosorbent Assay (ELISA) was used for the specific detection and identification of Prunus Necrotic Ringspot Virus (NRSV). The material used for the test consisted of dormant buds, collected from cherries (Prunus avium), and seed obtained from P. cerasus, P. persicae and P. cerasus Stockton Morello. Seeds were tested germinated and not germinated. The virus was detected in buds, where 13 trees out of 46 sampled, showed a positive reaction. The also detected NRSV in non germinated seeds of P. cerasus, but not in germinated seeds; the test also faited to detect the virus in seeds, germinated or not, of Stockton Morello or P. persicae.
