ABSTRACT
Nitrogen sources and levels applied to unirrigated Pedro Jiménez grape-vines. V. Effeets over total-N and NO3-N, in shoots and roots, at four phenologic stages

The N nutrition of Pedro Jiménez vines was evaluated under non irrigated conditions, at the Cauquenes Experimental Station (INlA). Grape-vines were submitted to an experiment with different sources and doses of N, from 1972 to 1981 (Lavín and Valenzuela, 1986a). Th is work reports the variation of total-N and NO3-N, in shoots and roots, during the 1974/75 season. Nitrogen sources increased the NO3-N concentration in shoots at the end of the growing season , potassium nitrate being most effective. Sources occasionally influenced NO3-N in roots, and total-N in shoots; they did notaffect total-N in roots. Doses proportionally increased total-N and NO3-N, only in roots and at the end of the growing season.
