ABSTRACT
Incidence of Bruchus pisorum L. (Coleoptera : Bruchidae) on pea, according to seeding date and density

Marcos Gerding P.1, Juan Tay U.1 y Mario Paredes C.1

From 1978 to 1982, seeding date and planting density trials were conducted on dry peas to reduce the oviposition of the pea weevil (Bruchus písorum L.) to a level of 4,5% injury (maximum accepted by Chilean regulations). Seeding date did not influence infestation levels, that were similar for all treatments. High planting density did not increase pod shading and, therefore, oviposition was not affected.
