ABSTRACT Lancero-INIA, a new winter wheat cultivar

Lancero-INIA is a new winter wheat cultivar recommended for the southern central part of Chile, derived from a winter x alternative wheat cross, madé in 1970 at the Quilamapu Research Station. Lancemo-INlAs main agronomic characteristics are: 75-97 cm plant height; profuse tillering and firm lodging resistant stems; excellent grain yield potential and test weight; good baking and milling teatures, in comparison to other winter and altemnative wheats. It shows moderate resistance to stripe rust and resistance to Ieaf rust (Puccinia striiformis and P. recondita). |
