Fungicide Rubigan (EL-222) effect on apples shape. VII Region, Chile
|Adriana Pinto de T.1, Iris Carreño I.1|
During the 1979/80 season, deformed apples were observed in Red King Oregon orchards, where Rubigan (EL-222) had beenapplied. To clarify this situation, trials were conducted comparing the use of no fungicide (check) with the use of Rubigan starting from green tips and from early petal fall. Results indicated that Rubigan produced deformed fruits only when applications started early. This is important, because deformed fruits are rejected by the export trade.
