The activities and results of a technology transfer program for the VI Region’s coastal area are presented. This program was active only during three years, as the financial support from the Regional Government was discontinued. Nevertheless, the change of attitude, in front of innovation, observed in many of the small farmers that participated in the program, shows that a well supported and permanent program of this type could bring the necessary technological changos to transform the traditional agriculture that predominates in these areas.
