ABSTRACT
Fertility changes detected in Chilean soil profiles. I. Antecedents

Gotardo Schenkel S.1, Pedro Baherle V.2

This is the first part of a series devoted to the study of changes that occur in the sol) profile, induced by crop fertilization. To start this series, a review is done of the literature refering to Al, P availabitili ty and fixation, total N, and C/N ratio, in Chilean soils. The series will be based on the hypothesis that crop fertilization will affect some soil properties, and through time, will have a favorable residual effect on the soil profile.
