A trumao silty-clay-loam soil (Dystrandept) from Chile was selected to study the effect of the potato leaf roil virus and NPK fertilization on yield of pota- toes (Solanum tuberowm L. cv. Pimpernel) and on foliar nutrientspercentage. The maximum physical yield of tubers was obtained with N120 P320 K100. LaCk of P determined the maximum relative decrease in yield, up to 42% decrease: tissue analysis of leaf roll infected plants wi thout P application showed a 70% relative de crease. Plants with leaf roil virus decreased their yield in approximately 50%. Healthy p)ants showed NPK foliar percentages significantly higher than thosewith leaf roli virus. Correlation coeficients found between NPK foliar percentages and tuber yields were low, in general.
