ABSTRACT
Effect of four tillage methods on the infiltration velocity and soil aggregates stability

Iván Vidal1, Benjamín Fernández2 y Nelson Duarte3

This research work was aimed to the evaluation of four tillage methods for sugar beet (Beta vulgaris var. saccharifera) seed bed preparation, from the point of view of soil infiltration velocity and soil aggregates stability.
Result indicate that the physical characteristics of this aluvial soil, generated from volcanic rock, are not importantly affected by the tillage method. This is due to the great stability and compaction resistance of the soil.
