Some bioligical aspects of the cutworms Euxoa bilitura and Euxoa lutescens were studied in the field previously (Ripa, 1979).
The average length of the development, from egg to adult, in laboraory reared specimens with artificial diet, took 87 days for E bilitura, when reared in the same conditions with clover, it took 97 days. For E lutescens the corresponding figures were 82 days and 109 to 115 days.
The average oviposition of E. bilitura adults, collected in a light trap, was 1.179 eggs per female in laboratory, and the maximum longevity observed was 23 days. E. luescens, reared in the laboratory, laid an average of 389 eggs, and had a maximum longevity of 14 days.
