A greenhouse sand culture study was conducted with cherimoya seedlings to induce deficiency symptoms of essential elements. Calcium deficiency was the first symptom which showed up on leaves and apical points of both shoots and roots. Symptoms appeared 30 days after the ion was withlield from the nutrient solution. Afterwards, lack, of N, K, Mg, P, B, S and Fe were shown hy the seedlings. Zinc symptoms did not appear probably because of contamination.
Foliar concentration of the elements for plants grown in optimal as welI as diferential nutrient solutions were lower than the standards for Citrus but slighthy higo her than those for avocado.
