ABSTRACT
SUSCEPTIBILITY STUDIES OF TWENTY POTATO CULTIVARS TO THE POTATO TUBER MOTH

Hugo Gugliehnetti M.1

Twenty potato cultivars were studied in a one year field test to evaluate their susceptibility to the potato tuber mont (Phtorimaea operculella (Zeller)). The susceptible cultivars were evaluated for moth damaged tubers.
All the cultivars were naturally infested, but significant differences in damaged tuber weight percentages were found.
This difference is assumed not to be due to resitance, but to tolerance to the potato tuber moth.
