A field experiment was carried out to study the effect of soil water tension on yield, quality and growth of soybean cv. amsoy-71. The experiment was conducted at the Experiment Station of the Catholic University in Pirque. Irrigations were made at 0.2 - 0.4 - 0.6 and 0.8 bar measured with tensiometers at 40 cm deep. Result indicate that yield and quality were not affected by the different treatments. Dry matter accumulation and the growth of leaf area were significantly reduced by increasing soil water tensions at irrigations.
