DETERMINATION OF EVAPOTRANSPIRATION AND K COEFFICIENTS FOR SEVERAL CROPS

The Irrigaton Program of La Platina Experiment Station has conducted some experiments on the following crops: corn, sunflower, tomato, beans, potatoes, onion, wheat, alfalfa, clover and rape. The objective of this research was to determine the consumptive use of water by the aforementioned crops. The methodolody utilized consisted in taking soil samples between consecutive irrigations and drying these samples in a oven at a temperature of 150ºC. The decreaces in soil moisture between samplings was used to compute the rate of consumptive use. the precipitation ocurred between irrigations was taken into account. Regresion and orrelation analysis between consumptive use and class A pan evaporation were done, in order to obtain the crop coefficients K that indicate the relationship between these two parameters. The results of the average monthly consumptive use were also presented in this paper.
