Two experiments were carried out to study the replacement of grains by remainder potatoes in the growth concentrates. In the first experiment, the treatments were I growth concentrate (2 Kg/day, maximum) and II Potatoes (15 Kg/day, maximum) + fish meal and bone meal (200 gr/day, maximum). The liveweight gains during the period were: I 0.606 Kg/day and II 0.597 Kg/day. In the second experiment the treatments were: I growth concentrate (2 Kg/day maximum) II Potatoes (15 Kg/day maximum) + rapeseed meal (0.500 Kg/day maximum) and III Potatoes (115 Kg/day, maximum) + dried beet pulp (48%) rapeseed meal (49%) and bone meal (3%). The liveweight gains were: 0.548 - 0.535 - 0.577 Kg/day, respectively. Eightcalves were used per treatment in each experiment and the experimental period· was from 60 to 154 days of age. The remainder potatoes are an economical resource of nutrients for calves.
