An estimation of wheat losses caused by rustis in Chile was made: a yield reduction of 0.78% was asignated to wheat stem rust (Puccinia graminis Pers. f. sp. tritici Erikss. et Henn.); 4.95% to leaf rust (P. recondita Rob. ex Desm. f. sp. tritici) and 5.58% to stripe rust (P. striiformis West f. sp. tritici).
Production loss was estimated in 155.513.6 tons, which represents a year wheat supply for nearly 1.110.811 chileans.
The commercial value was calculated in Eº 34.212.998.600 (31.102.726 U.S. dollars, aproximately).
