A potash fertilization trial was performed in a non-irrigated vineyard located in Cauquenes, province of Maule, Chile, from 1966 to 1968.
No effect was noticed over yield, sugar or acid concentration, average weight of berries, but not over the potassium level of petioles.
Available potassium in the soil was significantly increased only in the 0-20 cm deepth in both years of meassurements.
No significant correlation was found between available potassium level, in the first 20 cm of soil, and yield or potassium level of petioles, neither between the last ones.
The four sampling periods used showed a significant correlation between enveraison period and ripening period in 1966-67 growing season and between the four of them in 1967-68 growing season.
