Four concentrate diets comprising a 2 X 2 factorial design with a low (12%) and high (17%) level of crude ptotein, and a low (62%) and a high (68%) level of TDN wers fed ad libitum to ewe lambs of 20-25 Kg liveweight.
Liveweight gains did not differ significantly between levels of protein or energy, the protein X energy interaction closely reaching significance.
A protein X energy interaction on feed consumption issugested.
Feed efficiency was better for the high energy diets.
