Seventy two soil samples from the province of Valdivia on potted trial with Lolium perenne x Lolium multiflorum were studied. Sixteen of them were taken bellow the arable depht (0 - 20 cm). With the results, the lines for fertiity of all these soils were calculated. Also the fertility diagram for each soil was drawn.
Both phosphorus and potassium are shown to be the most severe deficiencies in these soils. Frequently both coexist for any of the dephtness considered. Only sulphur shows a clear lower level in the topsoil.
Scarcity of sulphur, magnesium and one or more micronutrients is shown clearly in several soils.
For the firts time, some samples from "ñadi" soils are considered. The nature of the fertility diagram for these soils differs greatly from those made before with other chilean soils.
