The pot trial-tests with rye grass H-1 (Lolium perenne X Lolium multiflorum) performed with 39 soils of the province of Malleco, indicate that the dominant nutritive deficiencies correspond to phosphorus, potassium and sulphur. Nitrogen is not considered in these experiments.
The intensity of these mineral deficiencies are measured through lines of fertility. They follow a semilogaritmic equation of the form: log Y = log A + mX, where X is the yield of the incomplete fertilization treatment.
The average value of "A" for the 39 soils are: 54,1; 92,0; 100,8; 104,6; 103,2; 105,2 and for "m" the following values are calculated: -95,6; -1297; -112; -1511; -323 X 10-5. These values correspond to P, K, Ca, Mg, S and micronutrients (B, Cu, Mo, Zn and Mn) respectively.
