This work was undertaken to study the effect produced by different animal charges, on the border irragation design, as consequence of the alteration of sorne physical characteristics oí the soil.
This work was done at the Experimental Station La Platina, where soils on their first stage of profile are sandy loam, and later change to sandy day loam.
This experience was undertaken with three different animal charges (2-6-8 animals) on a ladino clover prairie since 1965.
The experimental results indicated that the infiltration velocity decreases when the number of animals is increased per unit in area, consequently, it is necessary a longer time of irrigation in arder to apply the same height of water.
This is due mostly to the fact that apparent density increases when the animal charge is increased. It was also determined that the borders should be longer as the animal charge increases.
