ABSTRACT

DR. RICARDO ABEL K.1

The Schang's technic of preparing antiequine precipitating serum of high potency was employed to obtain antibovine precipitating serum.
On a experimental basis the author compared the current techniques of several injections in a few days with the Schang's technic of two injections only separated by a long interval. The intravenous, subcutaneous and intraperitoneal injections were used in both techniques.
The average titer of the antibovine serum of the 25 rabbits hyperimmunized with the current techniques was 1/3:000 and with the Schang's method in 14 rabbits it was 1/20.000.
Contrary to Schang's observations the author succeed in obtaining serum of a high titer when the subcutaneous injections were used. When the intraperitoneal injections were med all of the rabbits died.
The author demostrated that the Schang's technic is useful to obtain a good antibovine precipitating serum.
