ABSTRACT

FERNANDO ARES ROJAS1

These experiences were accomplished to investigate the rate of calcium and inorganic phosphorus in the dairy cow blood in normal production.
It was found a fluctuation in calcium rate, which range from 8,00 to 10,80 mgr. for each 100 cc. of sanguineous serum, that is to say, lower rates than pointed out by Haag and Jones (4), who founded 7 to 13 mgr. %.
It has been established the rate of 9,37 mgr.% as the average of calcium content.
The variations of inorganic phosphorus rate in serum range from 2,70 to 7,50 mgr. from each 100 cc. of serum. Generally, they are lower rates than those found by Haag and Jones, who indicate ciphers ranging from 4,70 to 7,20 mgr. from each 100 cc. of serum.
It has been established the rate of 4,77 mgr. % as the average of inorganic phosphorus; this rate agrees with the lowest cipher of Haag an Jones.
The relation Ca : P varied from 1,70 : 1 and 2,65 : 1, considering 2,15 : 1 as mean relation.
