This research studies the additions of seaweed known as cochayuyo (Durvillea utilis Bory) in growing chickens from 1 day to 84 days (12 weeks) of age. It was studied the effects of the different rations over the body weight, serie protein-bound iodine and weight of thyroid glands and testes. The histological study included the following tissues: testes, thyroid, lungs, heart, liver, spleen, intestines and kidneys. The Group 2 was the only one that has an increase of weight over the control group. There was a lost in weight in the groups 3 and 4. The levels of serie protein-bound were over the control in the three groups fed with cochayuyo. We found only increase of weight of thyroid and testes on the group 2 in comparison with the control. |
