Opala-INIA is a spring bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar released by the Wheat Project at Quilamapu Regional Research Center, National Agricultural Research Institute (INIA), Chillán, developed from advanced material received from CIMMYT in 1991. It has been included in yield trials since 1994. It is a semi-dwarf wheat, 85 - 95 cm plant height, resistant to Puccinia striiformis and Puccinia recondita. In trials its grain yield has varied between 7 and 11 t ha-1. The quality index classified this variety for direct use in bread making.
