Huayún INIA, a new bread wheat cultivar for the Central of Chile

Huayún INIA is a spring bread wheat cultivar obtained from advanced material from CIMMYT at the Regional Research Center La Platina in 1988. It was included in yield trials since 1989 and in Regional yield tests in 1990 to 1995. It is a semidwarfwheat with 93 cm plant height, good straw, with resistance to Puccinia recondita and P. striiformis tolerant to BYDV. It has very high yield potential with good bread making quality.
