A chemical control trial was carried out from February to April of 1993 at Temuco, IX Region of Chile under greenhouse condition on filbert aphid, Myzocallis coryli (Goeze) (Hemiptera: Homoptera: Aphididae), in arder to assess the efect of ten insecticides on foliage of hazelnut and one in the soil. Insecticides applied on foliage were dimethoate + chlorpirifos (33.3 + 41.70 cc a.i./100 L); demetonS- methyl (30 cc a.i./100 L), mineral oil (2 L/100 L) ; vamidothion (80 cc a.i./100 L); imidacloprid (43.75 g a.i./100 L); pirimicarb (25 g a.i./100 L), diflubenzuron (5 cc a.i./100 L) and permethrin (7.5 cc a.i./100 L); disulfoton (0.1 g a.i. per plant) was applied in soil. Omethoate, dimethoate + chlorpirifos, vamidothion and imidacloprid had the best performance. Also disulfoton seven days after treatment had one of the best control. No differences were seen among other products compared with untreated check.
