Biology of Copitarsia turbata (Lep. Noctuidae) under controlled conditions

Copitarsia turbata, is a quarentine pest able to attack several crops in Chile, specially vegetables. The present work gives a description of the development stages of the pest and of the longevity and female fertility. The life cicle of this insect from egg to adult emergence takes a period of 82,5 days at 20 ºC and 75% H.R. Each female oviposits an average of 1.038,6 egg.
