During the rice growing seasons 1989/90 and 1990/91, atthe Quilamapu Experimental Sation, a study was carried out in which the entrance of water to rice field was cut at different development stages of rice, such as flowering, milk, dough and ripening. Water remains as static continuos flooding till his total consumption. The results indicated that early cut ofwater does not influence the yield and milling quality of rice.

Keywords: rice, water management, rice grain moisture, milling quality.
