Eighteen Dorset x Merino Precoz ewes 35 day gestational age were subjected to 3 treatment on wheat stubbles with a stocking density of 40 ewes/ha per 61 days. Treatment 1, grazed wheat stubble alone. Treatments 2 and 3 were daily supplemented with 200 and 400 g of lupin graln, respectively. Liveweight (L.W.) and body condition at the end of study were lower in the control than in treatments 2 and 3 (P < 0.05). L.W. loses were 11.50, 7.68 and 3.27 kg, corresponding to 15.8, 10.5 and 4.4% ofthe Initial L.W. fortreatments 1, 2 and 3, respectively. No differences in lambing weight of lamb and dams were found (P > 0.05). The utilization of stubble was 56.8% in treatment 1 and 81.0 and 77.8% in treatments 2 and 3, respectively. Residues were similar In 2 and 3 and diflerents from 1 (P < 0.05).
