Mineral nutrition effects on plant yield and quality of essential oil of Eucalyptus globulus ssp globulus were studied in high density plantations (approximately 1.000.000 plants/hectare). Two fertilization trials and two irrigation systems were assayed in a four repetition, divided plot, factorial experiment whose results were related to phytomass produced per unit area as to oil quantity and quality. The nutritional status of plants was studied through foliar analysis and cineol from Eucalyptus oil was determined by gas chromatography. The best conditions were established among the plants being studied and this allowed to implement an interesting model of exploitation and to obtain essential oils from a high phytomass production.
