The effect of Iiming on sorne biological parameters and yield of red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) in a high aluminium content soil

The effect of liming and P·fertilization on yield, nodulation, VA·mycorrhizal root infection and phosphatase activity of rhizospheric soil of red clover growing in a high Aluminium content soil was studied under greenhouse conditions. Liming and phosphate were applied as CaCO3 in arate of 0, 2, 4 and 6 ton/ha and TSP equivalent to 0, 44 and 176 kg P/ha, respectively. Results show an increase on the biological parameters studied and a synergism between liming and P-fertilization on plant yield. N and P in leaves were observed specially at higher rates.
