Ernesto Prado C.1

The thrips fauna was sampled in two peach and plum orchards in 1987/88 in Santiago area, Chile. Only Frankliniella cestrum Moulton and Thrips tabaci Lindeman were associated with the flowers of the trees. When white, yellowand green sticky traps were used, the white sticky traps captured significantly greater numbers of thrips. F. cestrum and Limothrips cerealium (HaL) showed two flight activity during the season, while T. tabaci had five in the same periodo Ceratothrips frici (Uzel) appeared mainly at tha end of the season. The number of peaks of each species could coincide with the number of generations.
