The Impact Factor is calculated by dividing the number of citations in the JCR 2020 by the total number of articles published in the two previous years (2018-2019).

The 5-year journal Impact Factor is the average number of times articles from the journal published in the past five years have been cited in the JCR year. It is caclulated by dividing the number of citations in the JCR 2019 by the total number of articles published in the five previous years (2015-2019)

CiteScore 2019 counts the citations received in 2017-2020 to articles, reviews, conference papers, book chapters and data papers published in 2016-2019, and divides this by the number of publications published in 2017-2020.
